 MDNY
offers a number of different programs and plans
to ensure that your specific individual, family
and group needs are met.
As
of January 1, 2006, MDNY offers a unified product
line, MDFlex, with a variety of HMO and POS product
choices.
The
MDFlex Network is wide-reaching and comprehensive.
It currently has over 7,100 provider locations,
including the North Shore-LIJ Health System.
Additionally,
MDNY is proud to offer Healthy
New York to eligible small businesses, sole
proprietors, and individuals.
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) members
will receive care from medical providers within a specific, contracted network of providers. Except for emergency care, all benefits are received from providers within the network. Generally, benefits are considered comprehensive and are available after nominal co-payments. Deductibles and co-insurance do not generally apply.
HMO OPTIONS
Point of Service (POS) benefit plans include certain levels of coverage for medical care received outside the contracted network, in addition to receiving HMO benefits for services received in-network.
POS OPTIONS
When you purchase health insurance from MDNY, your plan includes a discount dental and vision plan, free of charge. More information about both of these valuable benefits can be viewed on this site.
